Urmila Mantondkar will be playing Kamini in remake of Subhash Ghai's film Karz. In original version Kamini role was portrayed by Simi Garewal.

Urmila was the first choice of Bhushan Kumar, T series as they wanted someone not too young and not too old. Urmila fits the character very well and he denied that Sushmita Sen was approached for the role earlier. Bhushan said that they had considered Sushmita for if Urmila couldn't make it because of date problems but they never contacted her.

Urmila is looking forward for the role and is excited for the special song included in first half of film to show off her dancing abilities and add glamour to the film.

Singer cum actor Himesh Reshmmiya will be in Rishi Kapoor role and Tina Munim's role has not been decided.

The actress has signed a three-film deal with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd., the producer of the comic caper and "Golmaal Returns" is one of them. While the other two films are still in the scripting stage, the shooting for this one will start in November in Delhi.
